Boxborough Conservation Commission unanimously accepted two draft Declarations of Restriction on open space parcels at the Park at Beaver Brook and authorized emergency action on a growing beaver dam crisis at Paddock Estates. The commission voted to accept the declaration covering Lots 16, 17A, and Parcel A — encompassing grassland subject to a Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program conservation management permit — and a second covering the 15.832-acre wooded Open Space Area D on Lot 13.2, both contingent on Sudbury Valley Trustees approval. Chair Elizabeth Markiewicz and member David Koonce led a detailed review that caught a composting stockpile on the Lot 13.2 parcel — confirmed by site inspection — and directed it be explicitly prohibited rather than, as the draft had it, an allowed use.

Associate Town Planner Ian Gilson reported three beaver dams on Beaver Brook have reduced water levels in the Paddock Estates fire suppression system to a point that could become a serious concern by late summer; the commission voted unanimously to authorize Gilson to issue an emergency enforcement order for dam breaching if conditions deteriorate before the next meeting on July 1.
