Boxborough Select Board Opens 2024 Town Meeting Warrant, Adds Capital and Staffing Articles
BOXBOROUGH — January 22, 2024 — Boxborough Select Board opens Annual Town Meeting warrant with capital requests topping $400,000. The board voted unanimously Monday to open, populate, and close the 2024 Annual Town Meeting warrant, adding articles that include a $200,000 Pager well chlorination project shared with the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a $106,000 wing mower for the Department of Public Works, town hall repairs estimated just under $70,000, fire PPE replacement, a new building commissioner's truck, and a $10,000 green burial soil study for the South Cemetery. The board also unanimously approved a common victualer's license for Craft Food Halls at 500 Beaverbrook Road, conditioned on a certificate of occupancy and a Board of Health food permit. A proposed $110,000 field review of all property assessment cards was pulled from consideration after Town Assessor Kelly Sozick told the board the expenditure was unnecessary: "If it was necessary, I would be the first one right up there to say we need to do something."
