Boxborough Select Board approves Craft Food Hall licenses, joins state health insurance trust

BOXBOROUGH — April 8, 2024 — Boxborough Select Board unanimously approves Craft Food Hall entertainment licenses, joins MIIA health trust. The board voted 5-0 Monday to grant both an annual entertainment license and a public entertainment on Sunday license to Craft Food Hall at 500 Beaver Brook Road, with the venue's owner saying a soft opening is targeted for the week of April 22. In a separate 5-0 vote, the board authorized joining the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association Health Trust, completing the town's move to Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage for all active employees and retirees by approximately May 1 after the dissolution of the Minute Man/Nashoba Health Group; Assistant Town Administrator Rajon Hudson said the town's insurance advisory group had voted unanimously for the switch on March 26. The board also heard that 12 Boxborough students applied to vocational schools last year and all but one were waitlisted or rejected, with the town currently spending roughly $170,000 annually to transport four students to two schools as a non-member community — a figure that drove discussion of a tentative April 24 site visit to Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford, the only school among nine contacted that expressed openness to adding Boxborough as a member community.
