Boxborough Commission Approves Ice Rink Repairs, Orders Enclave Extension Filing

BOXBOROUGH — October 22, 2025 — Boxborough Conservation Commission cleared a wetland-adjacent ice rink for pavement repairs and flagged an urgent permit deadline at its October 22 meeting. The commission voted unanimously to approve Nashoba Valley Olympia's plan to patch asphalt and regrade gravel at its 34 Mass Ave facility under perpetual condition 67 of its Certificate of Compliance, with a silt fence required along the wetland edge during work; Conservation Agent Ian and Town Engineer Sue Carter had determined the scope qualified as routine maintenance requiring no new filing. In a second unanimous vote, the commission approved a revised wetland restoration area for the Enclave residential development, shifting the zone southward where test pits confirmed hydric soils, subject to survey confirmation of a 1,066-square-foot minimum. Ian was directed to contact the Enclave contractors October 23 to demand an extension application before the project's Order of Conditions expires November 23, 2025. "If the order expires, they can't do any more work on the project — that's the bottom line," one member said.
