Housing board explores affordable housing options for Stow Road parcel

Housing Board · Meeting of February 3, 2026

BOXBOROUGH — Housing board discusses affordable housing options for Stow Road parcel. The Boxborough Housing Board reviewed multiple scenarios for developing 70-72 Stow Road, which may become available after the fire station relocation, including donation to Habitat for Humanity, sale to the town for downtown revitalization, or rehabilitation for affordable housing. Chair Al Murphy outlined the options while acknowledging the parcel's zoning limitations and lack of financial viability without grant funding.

Diana Lipari noted new state initiatives that may warrant reconsideration. The board also approved expansion of the Boxborough Rental Assistance Program to support 16 households, with warrant language adjusted to approximately 14 families.
