Well-Being Committee approves Movement Series grant and holiday assistance surge.

Well-Being Committee · Meeting of January 5, 2026

BOXBOROUGH — Well-Being Committee approves five-event Movement Series and celebrates record holiday assistance. Chair Mary Pavlik and members Elizabeth Markiewicz, Anne McNeece, R. Allen Murphy, and Mary-Halvey Dove approved the Acton Boxborough Cultural Council-funded Movement Series running January through February, with Jazzercise, yoga, hip hop Zumba, line dancing, and mindfulness classes.

Community Services Coordinator Wendy Trinks reported that holiday assistance reached 145 individuals across 46 Boxborough families this past year, a 50 percent increase over the prior year. Nashoba Board of Health representative Jenna Montgomery updated the committee on elevated regional flu activity, noting that the current virus mutation "subclade K" is not well covered by this year's vaccine, though vaccination remains protective against severe disease.
