Water Resources Committee · Meeting of August 18, 2026
BOXBOROUGH — The Water Resources Committee heard from Fire Chief John Kivlan about firefighting water infrastructure needs. Presenting on the town's 59 cisterns and fire ponds, Kivlan noted the recent Littleton water main addition with 30 new hydrants and identified five critical areas needing attention: Hill, Depot, Sargent, Liberty Square, and Flagg Hill Roads. Committee members discussed building new cisterns and potentially engaging outside expert support.
The committee reviewed its draft workplan on regional water supply coordination and decided not to submit articles for the Fall Special Town Meeting. The Littleton-Boxborough water line project is installing service connections, with first betterment charges expected on February tax bills.
