BOXBOROUGH — Sustainability Committee voted to recommend plastic bag ban and rodenticide restrictions for May town meeting. The committee unanimously backed a Plastic Bag, Polystyrene, and Disposable Plastic Reduction bylaw and a Second-Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticide (SGAR) Ban Home Rule Petition, noting that similar measures have been successfully adopted across Massachusetts. The committee reported on a draft Climate Action Plan nearing completion, with Select Board review scheduled for April and possible adoption on April 27.

The committee noted that the Green Communities grant would fund LED Lighting and Weatherization installations beginning in mid to late April, spending approximately $120,000 of a $132,000 grant. The committee also reported plans to develop a pay-as-you-throw program and reopen the Swap Shed on April 22.
