BOXBOROUGH — Select Board, Finance Committee, and Capital Committee hold joint Saturday workshop on FY27 capital requests. Fire Chief Kivlan's proposals include $160,000 for 25 automated external defibrillators, personal protective equipment, breathing apparatus replacements, and radio upgrades amended to $320,000 to comply with state-mandated phase two system requirements, with radios reaching end of life in April. Public Works Director Ed Kukkula requests $420,000 for spring road maintenance and $100,000 combined for compactor and underground tank removal.
Police Chief Szewczyk seeks $111,400 total for fingerprint machine, command vehicle, and flooring. Committees declined to transfer $250,000 from Free Cash to Stabilization Fund, leaving approximately $2.3 million in Free Cash available.
