Boxborough Select Board unanimously advances fire station project to March ballot vote. The board approved a $2.4 million warrant article to purchase 4.2 acres at 984 Massachusetts Avenue and a companion $2.7 million article for architectural design and bidding, both to be decided at the March 17 ballot following a March 9 Special Town Meeting, Chair Kristin Hilberg announced. Town Administrator Michael Johns stated that environmental and geotechnical studies found the property suitable for development with two existing structures that can be demolished relatively easily.
The board separately addressed property tax billing errors affecting lock box payment customers and outlined a new daily reconciliation process between the Tax Collector and Accounting offices to prevent recurrence.
