BOXBOROUGH — Select Board joins fire truck price-fixing lawsuit and debates Transfer Station fees. The board voted unanimously to authorize Boxborough to join a national class action suit alleging price-fixing among fire apparatus manufacturers, with Town Counsel approval required; Town Administrator Michael Johns noted the town's fire truck cost ballooned from approximately $800,000 to $1.2 million. On user fees, the board voted 3-2 to keep Transfer Station stickers free for seniors through FY28, with Members Wesley Fowlks and Samuel Anderson dissenting; it also voted 4-1 to hold the standard resident sticker fee at $150 for FY27.
The board unanimously approved a new $60-per-inspection fixed rate for part-time plumbing, gas, and electrical inspectors.
