BOXBOROUGH — Recreation Commission approves croquet league and tennis backboard project. Chair Hilary Greven moved unanimously to allow the Wicked Awesome Croquet League a 12-week season at Fifer's Field starting in August, with the commission waiving the field fee in exchange for 20 percent of league proceeds. The board also approved the least expensive option for a 10-by-12-foot mounted tennis backboard.
In other business, the commission agreed to cover registration costs for a Flerra Summer Playground camper facing family hardship and approved donations of one week of camp to AB Lacrosse and the Blanchard Fundraiser. Pickleball scheduling was adjusted in a trial allowing Team Reach two courts on Saturday mornings from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
