BOXBOROUGH — Housing Board backs $15,000 grant match for housing production plan article. Chair Al Murphy moved to recommend the town meeting article on March 30, seconded by member Brittany Zorn, with a unanimous 5-0-0 vote. The proposal would transfer $15,000 from free cash to serve as grant matching funds for the town's first housing production plan in over a decade.
The board noted the match represents only 20 to 25 percent of the total project cost and said the plan is essential for planning and permitting officials to make recommendations on new housing and support existing affordable housing in the community.
