Fire Station Committee reviews expanded concept designs and space plan

Fire Station Building Committee · Meeting of June 11, 2026

Boxborough Fire Station Committee reviews multiple design concepts and space needs. Vice Chair Mac Reid led the committee's June 11 review of three to four architectural schemes from Context, following a June 4 public visioning session that favored vernacular architecture and gabled roofs. The revised space-needs assessment shows seven bedrooms within a 20,000-square-foot building to accommodate on-call firefighters during day and night hours.

Town Administrator Mike Johns reported the property closing is delayed to July pending title review and confirmation of access rights to Route 111 via Sara's Way. A second visioning session is planned for July 23 during Fifer's Day.
