Fire Station Committee advances project toward March voter decision

Fire Station Building Committee · Meeting of February 26, 2026

BOXBOROUGH — Fire Station Committee prepares materials for March town meeting vote. Chaired by Mary Brolin, the committee convened to finalize materials for a March 9 special vote on the fire station project. Fire Chief John Kivlan presented comprehensive justifications for the apparatus fleet, including five fire engines, two tankers, two ambulances, and three command vehicles, with each vehicle serving specific operational needs tied to the town's substantial forested areas and areas lacking hydrant coverage.

The committee scheduled a pre-town-meeting drop-in information session for March 3 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Sargent Memorial Library.
