Boxborough Finance Committee deadlocked on police and public works budgets March 3. The committee voted 3-3 on both the Police Department budget of $1,885,753 and the DPW budget of $1,063,319, each featuring a $20,000 front-loaded salary increase in recently-negotiated contracts. Member Maria Neyland voted against her own motions on both items, citing her preference for spreading salary growth over three years rather than concentrating it in the first year of a contract.
The committee approved the Town Clerk position unanimously at $155,990 and delayed the school district's $30.9 million FY27 budget pending a school committee revote; the district's plan includes a $353,355 OPEB reduction and a $4.5 million high school roof replacement project requiring grant-funded completion by end of fiscal 2027.
