BOXBOROUGH — Finance Committee voted to back most Fall Town Meeting articles but split 4-1 on Hager bridge beaver project. Chair Antony Newton and four members voted to endorse Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 12, and 13, while deferring Article 10. Article 5, which seeks $25,000 for consulting on beaver dam removal or flow control options, received one favorable vote and four against.
Town Planner Alec Wade noted that dam removal would cost $150,000 to $300,000 over three to five years with no state approval guarantee.
