Finance Committee approves six departmental budgets for FY27

Boxborough Finance Committee approves six departmental budgets totaling $725,000 for fiscal year 2027. The committee voted unanimously 4-0 on each departmental package, including $248,156 for the Town Accountant, $180,505 for the Treasurer/Collector, $140,000 for Legal services, $84,569 for Dispatch, $24,239 for the Animal Control Officer, and $96,347 for the Council on Aging. The committee discussed the FY27 budget model, which showed increases in both assessment and expenses.
With $4.2 million in available free cash and $1.7 million proposed for allocation, the committee reached consensus to add $250,000 to the stabilization fund, which currently holds $1.548 million.
