Finance Committee · Meeting of January 27, 2026

BOXBOROUGH — Finance Committee advances fiscal 2027 budget line items, approves $1.66M retirement assessment. The committee unanimously approved most FY27 budget lines, including the $1,663,195 Middlesex Retirement Assessment, $453,410 library budget, and $393,289 planning department funding. Committee members cited cost-of-living adjustment increases from 2.5 to 3 percent, adding $6,700 to operations, and identified significant discrepancies in debt servicing projections requiring validation from consultant reports.

Chair Antony Newton will coordinate with the Select Board to present the completed fiscal 2026 audit report. The committee deferred four line items for further clarification on expenses and policy questions.
