Fire Station Building Committee · Meeting of April 15, 2026

BOXBOROUGH — Fire Station committee selects Context Architects as top designer. The Fire Station Building Committee voted 6-1 on April 15 to rank three candidate architecture firms, placing Context Architects first, Tecton Architects second, and Kaestle Boos Associates third. Chair Mary Brolin and Finance Committee representative Maria Neyland praised Context's cost discipline and stakeholder engagement plan.

Committee member Larry Grossman cast the lone dissenting vote, preferring Tecton's fire-station expertise and 20-year record of never missing a budget. The committee voted 7-0 to authorize the Town Administrator to negotiate with Context Architects, proceeding to subsequent firms if talks fail.
