Conservation Commission approves Beaver Brook barrier maintenance

BOXBOROUGH — Conservation Commission approves barrier maintenance for turtle habitat on Beaver Brook Road. The commission unanimously authorized work on approximately 14,000 linear feet of barrier, three tunnels, and two box culverts along Beaver Brook Road, expected to begin in early March and be completed by mid-April 2026. John Rockwood of EcoTec, Inc., and Jeff Wyman of Campanelli presented the project, which aims to minimize turtle access to the roadway as a priority identified by the National Heritage and Endangered Species Program.
The commission also received a CISMA grant from the Sudbury-Assabet-Concord River Watershed Cooperative for invasives removal beginning in May, with Oxbow Associates handling the work.
