BOXBOROUGH — Fire Station Building Committee reviews design for new station across multiple configurations. The Fire Station Building Committee reviewed five design concepts ranging from a 20,000-square-foot single-story scheme to two-story structures, with options for apparatus access parallel or perpendicular to Mass Avenue. Chair Mary Brolin led discussion of refined space needs at 20,498 square feet.

Geotechnical investigation found bedrock 1.5 feet below surface, requiring additional subsurface study. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and authorized vendor invoices totaling $7,763.19 for Phase II design work.
