BOXBOROUGH -- November 18, 2024, Boxborough Planning Board reduces a subdivision performance bond to $25,000, then continues an industrial site plan hearing. The board voted 4-1, with one abstention, to cut the Priest Lane subdivision bond from $247,580 to $25,000, after members Rebecca Werner and Cindy Markowitz objected that a compliance checklist arrived 24 minutes before the meeting. Town Planner Alec Wade said he and Town Engineer Sue Carter had inspected the site and were comfortable with the partial release; engineer Seth Donahoe of Dillis and Roy Civil Design Group told the board "I've heard everything you've said tonight loud and clear" and committed to more detailed documentation at the final release stage. On a separate item, the board unanimously continued a public hearing on a proposal by owner Mike Wright to build two 12,000-square-foot warehouse buildings at 340 Codman Hill Road to December 16, directing the applicant to resolve open questions about sprinkler requirements, tree-clearing calculations under the town's three-acre bylaw trigger, building facade design, and a pending alternate-access special permit application.
