Boxborough Planning Board Accepts Taylor Farm Road Land Gift Application Withdrawal

BOXBOROUGH — August 26, 2024 — Boxborough Planning Board unanimously accepts Taylor Farm Road application withdrawal, advancing an 8.29-acre land gift toward town meeting. The board voted 5-0 on August 26 to accept the withdrawal without prejudice of a subdivision modification application filed by Goldsmith, Prest and Ringwall Incorporated on behalf of Longwood Homes, LLC for 50 Taylor Farm Road, after the Select Board voted at a special meeting to express intent to accept the full Parcel 1 acreage as a town gift. Associate Town Planner Alec told the board the town is covering legal costs for deed drafting and warrant preparation to ease the financial burden on the applicant. Member Rich Gazzardi credited neighborhood participation — six or seven households attended the Select Board session, notified by letters taped to their mailboxes the same day — as decisive. Member Cindy Markowitz placed on the record her understanding that the "entire parcel" of 8.29 acres is being offered, which the planner confirmed. The article could appear on the February 10, 2025 special town meeting warrant pending guidance from town counsel, or may be deferred to the May annual town meeting. The board also voted unanimously to schedule a public hearing on revisions to its own rules and regulations for September 16 at 7:05 p.m., and was introduced to newly hired Associate Town Planner Rafi Nizam.
