Boxborough picks 984 Mass Ave for new fire station

Boxborough fire station committee recommends Mass Ave over Stow Road. Chair Mary Brolin led the committee to a unanimous vote on the 984 Mass Ave property despite its 2.6 million dollar cost premium over the alternative 72 Stow Road site, citing superior location and response-time benefits. The committee approved a 2,765,910 dollar design and bid estimate and a 2.4 million dollar land-purchase warrant article for the March 9 Special Town Meeting, with construction contingent on passage of a March 17, 2026 ballot question.
